From the very beginning of his work, Dailidėnas’s painting was distinguished by bright colors, dynamic forms and mystical plots. Recurring symbols are often seen in his works: a jug, an eye, human figures, journeys, time spirals and mysterious architectural structures. The artist consciously created paintings as open stories – each viewer could find their own interpretation. He was an artist who sought to change the world through his paintings – in the way he knew how best, by conveying his thoughts through images. Jonas Dailidėnas work was not only an artistic expression, but also a philosophical meditation on the human condition, dreams, time and meaning. “I want people to never stop dreaming,” he used to say.
